Fishing is a great experience for adults and children alike. It can be a great reason to be able to bond with your family members. Fishing is the perfect time for fathers and sons and even friends to enjoy each others’ company while being able to catch a meal. There are many places where the fish are abundant and the view is wonderful. Sitka, Alaska is considered to be the best saltwater fishing destination. Sitka Alaska fishing is one way of having great fun for everyone, young or old.

Sitka prides itself for its waters. Here, you could find many species of fishes like salmon, halibut and other kinds of fishes. There are many fishes like King Salmon living in the beautiful waters of Sitka. You might be able to catch King Salmon that have very good weight, usually ranging from 20 to 70 pounds.

Another species of fish abundant in Sitka’s waters is silver salmon. They usually appear during or after king salmon runs. Though these fishes are somewhat smaller than king salmon, they often fight back, which makes them harder to catch. There is typically a lot of action when catching silver salmon. Usually, they are just about 8 to 14 pounds in weight. The gear and equipment used for angling king salmon and silver salmon is usually the same, and the methods to catch them are also generally similar.

Sitka Alaska fishing is also known for its excellent catches of halibut. You could almost always have a catch of halibut weighting around 30 to 60 pounds. The heaviest catch that you may get can sometimes weigh 100 pounds or more. Although quite uncommon, you might be able to catch a halibut that weighs at 300 pounds.

While you might not get lucky enough to get fishes that are quite heavy, you could always count on catching something that can weigh 1 pound or less. Though the waters have strong tidal currents, the fishes are still very abundant here in Sitka.

If you are looking for the perfect place to go fishing, Sitka Alaska fishing might be the perfect choice. The area has mild weather, and the view is really splendid. There are also many places to discover like bays, streams, and islets. Sitka is abundant with fish all year round, but the best time to fish is usually between mid-September to October.
