Alaska Fishing Lodge

We have heard a lot of sailing lodges, hunting lodges, 'haunted lodges' and even lodges, but what is this Fishing lodge? The word 'fishing' took me on a cart-wheeling slam bang trip to the Alaska. I was directed to go to Kenai River Cabin from there, and lo and behold I was greeted by the sight of a Fishing Lodge. Locals told me that you may find as many fishing lodges here in Alaska as salmons. I felt it was quite an exaggeration at that point(I thought) but a longer stay here in Alaska proved me completely wrong. Alaska Fishing Lodge is pretty much a part of Alaskan culture, much the same way as how the seascape is.

An Alaskan Fishing Lodge provides as a 'base-camp' for all the fishing trips which the fishing lodge conducts for its visitors. Depending upon where they are located, they conduct trips for fish-hunting of a specific species. You will find most of the fishes almost anywhere in Alaskan waters, but to locate some species you must really venture out far from the shore. Most of these adventures last for a day. But if you are looking up to fish catching as a part-time profession, you may decide to take a trip of a week. If you are skilled enough and follow some basics of fish catching, you are sure to return with a rich haul of fishes.

My favorite of them all is Kenai River, which coincidentally was also my first tryst with a fishing lodge. When we talk about pristine sea water, we say it is crystal blue. But with Kenai River, the water is emerald green. Add to the fact that it is a hotbed for salmons and trouts make this is a favorite destination for people who visit Alaska to do some serious fishing. Most of the fishing lodges aside Kenai River Cabins offer excellent facilities to the guests. If you are tired catching fishes, come back to your room, take a shower, go down to the barbeque, cook your fish and eat it. And one visit to an Alaskan Fishing lodge will magnetize you to come back for many more times.
